Information for teams playing in a BCCSL League Championship Final
For the neutral games at Burnaby Lake West and Newton Athletic Park, the BCCSL has scheduled officials and will have staff on site to pay the officials in cash. Referees should check in with that person. At Burnaby Lake they will be in the meeting room inside the main building. At Newton, look for the red tent at the main entrance area on the concourse. For all district-hosted games, and the neutral games at Minoru on March 2, the clubs/districts will schedule and pay for the officials and the BCCSL will reimburse the appropriate club/district for the referee fees after the weekend.
Same protocol as previous games. The designated HOME team brings copies of the game sheet for the match official and opponent. Visiting teams should print a copy too “just in case” based on stories we heard of some home teams often forgetting to print them. The referees should report discipline as usual in the BCCSL's system, and the HOME club should report the score as usual.
Games tied at the end of regulation will go directly to penalty kicks. No extra time periods will be played.
There are Champions and Finalists medals for all players in the BCCSL Cup Finals. At the neutral game venues, the designated home team should pick up from the staff person on site. For club/district-hosted games, the home team should make plans to pick up the medals for both teams from their district representatives prior to their game. Due to the 149 Cup Finals taking place across the lower mainland, there simply isn't the ability for ceremony presentations by the BCCSL after the game, so both teams should teams should shake hands and obtain their medals from the home team representative.
